The Kids' Place
In 2006, as a part of the Fisher-Titus Medical Center Rehabilitation Center's expansion, a unique area was designed for young patients' special needs.
As you enter "The Kids' Place for Learning and Therapy," a kid-friendly waiting room provides a place where children can play while they wait for therapy. Parents can stay in this area and watch their children's therapy sessions at monitoring stations along the back wall. In addition a transition room facilitates private discussion between the therapists and the family.
In "The Kids' Place," patients move, play and learn in a safe, private environment. A gym and specialized treatment spaces provide such innovations as a climbing wall, training horse, swings, zip line and a ball pit to encourage the development of social and interaction skills, language, sitting, crawling, walking, self-care and fine motor coordination.
Fisher-Titus Medical Center's Pediatric Team also provides various group programs to supplement educational and private treatment programs, along with workshops to promote continuing education for families, educators and therapists throughout the region.
